Sunday 13th September
Please see the Parish Calendar for further updates on services and events.
Sunday Services in our parish buildings continue in the morning only (9.45am and 11.30am) until further notice.
We host evening services online on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month- in September this is the 13th and 27th- at 7.00pm on Zoom. Please see the Parish Calendar for details.
In addition we will be resuming Wednesday services of Holy Communion from Wednesday 9th of September at 10.30am.
We hope to be able to offer an 8.00am Holy Communion service on Sundays in October. Thank you for your patience in this.
The Parish’s General Vestry meeting takes place on the evening of the 12th October.
Face Coverings at Services in the Parish of Holywood
Guidance from the Diocese of Down and Dromore requires worshippers to wear face coverings at all church services.
We would therefore ask all those attending services to bring and wear a mask or other suitable face covering. Stewards will be on hand to remind you as you arrive.
Are there any exemptions?
Those under 13 are not required to wear face masks (but are welcome to do so). Those who have a medical exemption will not be required to wear a face covering.
Those leading services (liturgically and musically) will not wear masks when they are able to stay socially distant from the rest of the congregation.
Thank you for your help in this.
We care about worshipping together:
We care about one another.
If you are considering coming to services once again please ensure that you do not travel to Church if you have recently experienced any COVID19 symptoms- temperature, persistent cough or loss/change in your sense of taste and/or smell.
Our last Newsletter is available here. Please feel free to share the link with friends and family. A full Parish Magazine will be published in September.
Thank you to the Select Vestry, Volunteer stewards and cleaners who have made it possible to resume services in our buildings once again. If you would like to help with these teams please let us know by contacting the parish office.
The Church of St Philip and St James Church is open for private prayer on Wednesday afternoons only from 2.00pm-4.00pm. Stewards will continue to be on hand to guide visitors. Social distancing and hygiene protocols apply.
Pastoral ministry: Some pastoral visits are now permitted and the clergy have also been making hospital visits in line with the advice of the Health and Social Care guidelines. Please contact the parish office if you would like to speak with the clergy, youth or children’s staff team members.
Funerals: If you have been bereaved please contact the clergy as soon as possible. Services may happen in the Parish Church with restricted numbers.
Groceries and other essentials for Storehouse can be brought to Sunday services and left in the Church or Parish Centre. Occasional drop offs happen at the Parish Centre and at Bangor Road Presbyterian Church. Visit our facebook page for more details.
