Do you enjoy hearing our bells ringing on a Sunday? One of the privileges of the Church of Ireland is our tradition of ringing bells to call people to worship. However the bells don't ring themselves. A band of ringers meets and practises each week so that they can perform this important duty on Sunday. It is not as easy to ring a bell as it looks, but it is not difficult to learn. After a little training and 'learning the ropes', one can begin to join in. It is then that things gets interesting as, working together and changing the order in which the bells are struck, different patterns are rung.
All bell ringers testify to the strong fellowship and team spirit within a band of ringers. Perhaps you would be interested in trying it out?
