Holy Baptism is administered to infants on the understanding that they will be brought up in the fellowship of Christ's Church; will be taught the Christian faith; and that, when they have publicly confessed this faith, they will be confirmed by the bishop and admitted to the Holy Communion.

Parents and Godparents will be called upon to encourage the infants in the life and faith of the Christian community, by prayers and example, teaching and love, to you care for the infant, and help them to take their place within the life and worship of Christ's Church. They must turn to Christ, renounce the devil and all his works and you obey and serve Christ, with the help of God.

The minister will make the sign of the cross and pour water over the infant's head to symbolise dying to sin and rising in new life, being made one with Christ in his death and resurrection.
